Description=Jana Server is an excellent fully featured and free Internet connection sharing solution with cache options. The program supports HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/Gopher, Real Player as well as Socks 4 and Socks 5. Additionally, Jana Server is an email server, which allows users on a LAN to send e-mail to each other, and enables each individual user to send e-mail over the Internet. This allows each user to have his own e-mail account through another service provider. Included is an integrated HTTP server with CGI/Perl support. Further functions integrated in the program are the Gateway functions for FTP programs, Telnet monitors, Newsreader and self-configurable Gateways. Also included are advanced security functions that can limit access based on IP address not only for the server in general but also for specific services. This allows you to grant specific access rights for each machine. Jana works with any modem or ISDN connection and can automatically initiate a dial-up connection on demand. It also comes with a remote control utility that allows monitoring and disconnection from a remote location. The program is easy to use and configure and includes good documentation. There is no user limit for Jana! Overall, this is the most complete free proxy server we have seen so far.
